Dancing is fun! Getting into the music is great, and getting all the steps right for the first time is such a rush. And when you've got a teacher like this fellow...
East Coast Swing:
"Alright, in this move, the girls kick between the guys' legs. Girls, be. Careful. Keep the kicks -low-. Then next, the guys kick between the girls' legs. Noooo worries."
Merengue:
"Hey, I see some of you guys doing one of those.. drive-by twirls. Just to get it over, eh? Now, you know you can tell a lot about a person by the way he dances, so, you know.. You maayyyyy want to slow down. Just something to keep in mind..."
Salsa:
"Now, what are two things that girls always like to do? That's right, dips and twirls. So if you guys can do those, you're made men. Can't do either, you're going home alone. But why do twirls exist in Salsa, guys? Anyone? ... To check the girl out, of course!"

The Performance Arts
There was once I fellow I knew in high school who was -enviably- talented at singing. But his claim to fame was his particularly broad vocal range. He could hit everything from a high soprano to a baritone, and whenever somebody was missing a part, he was the guy to go to. Admittedly, though, it was always a little odd to hear him sing the girl parts. As the conversation goes:
"What! Why are my girl parts weird?!"
"Because you don't -have- girl parts!"
Which brings me to the advent of a salsa class in my day! The art of "social dancing," as it's called, is one of those things where standing still and looking bored is the -uncool- thing to do. It's something into which the body has to throw itself with considerable energy, and all the steps must be remembered without ever looking down.
But then they turn on that -really- catchy music with the heavy bossa nova beat, and suddenly, "hey, I can get into that." And then it just feels right.
I get the feeling there's a reason we all know how to dance.

Changes, changes.
Started working on a new layout for this buddy here. It's a lovely one, where I've got it! But it's not quite green enough for me. Hang tight, and we'll see about learning Photoshop -and- CSS in...oh, a couple weeks, tops. How hard could it be, right?
Expect changes!

Hellooooo, Blogspot.
"Okay, well, they want funny."
"I can do funny!"
"They want witty-- but not smart-alecky. There's a fine distinction, and nobody likes the latter."
"Sure, sure, I can do that. Not so bad, so far."
"They want something they can relate with--"
"No problem!"

"Naturally!"
"And they want consistent updates."
"...oh."
